Information on this page is provided for historical or background purposes only. It should be noted that following completion of the Western Loop Study, the Conway City Council on August 10, 2004, selected Route A as the desired route for the Western Loop. To date, funds have not been available for the city to implement this much needed, multimillion dollar project. Four proposed routes were considered in the now completed study. You may click on the links below to view the routes in Web page format or as an Acrobat Reader PDF file. You will be able to zoom in on the acrobat version.
The blue dots shown on the route maps represent areas of significance to be avoided by the loop right-of-way. The location and design selected to be acceptable to the City with concurrence of the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD), the Federal Highway Admininstration (FHWA), and Metroplan. The studies will document the National Enviromental Policy (NEPA) process. A functional preliminary design will be prepared for the selected alignment. Again, Garver Engineers, Inc., provided planning and engineering services to the city to conduct the location and alignment studies for this project that resulted in the selection of Route A as the most economical and environmentally acceptable route for a western arterial loop. Their address is provided for information only. Garver Engineers, Inc. |
